About Us

There has been a DIY store at No.33 St. Johns Way, Corringham since about 1964, and it has been part of our family for the last 30 years. We pride ourselves with being one of the few original stores still to be trading in the precinct. Young children who rode on the little orange train, now bring their own children along to ride him too!

Ron Huelin at the ripe young age of 74 decided to retire in 2011 and has sold the shop to us (his daughter Deborah and son-in-law Andrew) and we will now take up the reins with a new enthusiasm to ensure the shop will continue to prosper and serve the community.

The shop has changed its name to Your Do It Yourself Centre Ltd and is undergoing a face lift with new signage and refurbishing both inside and outside the store. We want to give the shop a fresher, cleaner, more professional and up-to-date image so that its appearance matches our ethos of striving to give you the best quality product and shopping experience at affordable prices together with our high standard of friendly informative service. And in the name of DIY - we are doing the refurbishments ourselves after closing hours!

We want to be your first choice, by serving you with honesty and integrity. We aim to maintain the highest level of customer service we are able to provide and continue offering quality products at competitive prices.

Top tip When setting a mouse trap keep your fingers at the top end away from the spike .......otherwise it really hurts if the spring slips and pings back!

It's a myth ....... You think we will be dearer than the super stores... NOT TRUE! We are sometimes a lot cheaper, but don't take our word for it - check out our customer reviews on Facebook.

...YOU COULD SAVE MONEY? We sell hundreds of items loose so you can buy just one, three or fifty, it's up to you, then you don't pay more for the packaging!
